Therapeutic Relaxation Balance

Hi, my name is Kellie Robertson. I have been a Massage Therapist for 12 years. I like to help people relax and how that can impact not only them but the people around them.
Becoming a Massage Therapist was never something I thought about until I had a cousin mention that she was thinking about becoming one. For about six months, I let that stew in my brain until I realized it would be something I would be good at and enjoy doing. My mom and I used to give each other shoulder and neck massages when I was young and I remembered how that made her feel: the tension in her shoulders would be gone, her headache was gone, and she had an overall feeling of relaxation. It felt good to help her achieve that. My thought was how good that would be to help others feel relaxed and decrease the tension they carry and how that can affect the people around them. When my mom was relaxed, there was no tension in her voice, her face, or her body, which changed the energy in the house and how we interacted with each other. Once I realized how massage can impact people, I decided it was for me.

I went to school at Seattle Massage School and became certified a year later. I’ve taken several classes throughout the years, including reflexology, aromatherapy, and fascial release, and am currently becoming certified in Bowen Technique.
Being a Massage Therapist helps people relax and decrease the tension they may be carrying in their bodies, as well as how it can affect the people around them. When someone is relieved of pain, tension, or headaches, it can change how they go through their daily lives and how they interact with others. I like being a part of that.
